Our League and Mission

Diamondback Little League (DBLL) is a chartered Little League serving your community. Our home fields are located at Echo Mountain Elementary School on the corner of 18th Street and Grovers Avenue, half way between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive.

Each year we have over 300 boys and girls age 4-18 who play Little League baseball in several different divisions. The divisions for age 12 and under are T-ball/Coach Pitch, Farm (machine pitch), Minors, and Majors. We also have Junior, Senior, and Big League divisions for 13-18 year olds.

DBLL follows the same Mission Statement as Little League Baseball:  "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League baseball"

Those of us associated with DBLL believe, as does Little League Baseball, that the players will develop "the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being." The Little League Baseball program places a higher priority on developing superior citizens than it does superior athletes.

DBLL operates two seasons each year -- Spring and Fall.

  • Spring season has tryouts in January or early February and practice starts in February, and games are played through the end of May or beginning of June.  There are no tryouts for Tee Ball / Coach Pitch.
  • Fall season is a training and development season geared toward instruction, and the season starts in September and ends in November.

 March 2007
:  Major/Minor field becomes Jason Smith Memorial Field

Jason Smith was a promising baseball player who started his career at Diamondback Little League. Jason went on to play for North Canyon High School, where he excelled as a pitcher. After graduating high school, Jason joined the United States Marine Corps instead of continuing to play baseball at the junior college level. Jason felt the Marine Corps would make him stronger and more mature in preparation to later enter college and continue his baseball career. On December 31, 2004, Jason Smith was killed by an IED during a tour Iraq. In 2007, DBLL honored this fallen American Soldier by naming the Major/Minor field Jason Smith Memorial Field.
